Dian Chen

Hi! Welcome to my space!

I’m a Machine Learning Engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area, working on Computer Vision, Machine Learning research and production. I’m taking an adventure in a stealth mode startup along with Prof. Trevor Darrell and Dr. Ben Van Roo, our mission being to bring visual intelligence more accessible to everyone.

I got my Master’s Degree in Robotics at University of Pennsylvania supervised by Prof. Kostas Daniilidis, working on visual perception, graphics, and learning in robotics. I was fortunate enough to be part of the distinguished GRASP Lab where I finished my Thesis work in multi-person 3D pose estimation under the guidance of Georgios Pavlakos. Before that, I graduated from Zhejiang University where I had a great time in learning control theory and playing with quadrotors.

I love documenting interesting findings in my work & life. Feel free to navigate yourself in this place and please don’t hesitate to shoot me an email/message if you want to say hello!

Apart from being enthusiastic about tech, I’m also an amateur guitar/flute/badminton player!

The header picture was taken in a small museum in the middle of nowhere when I was traveling in the Netherlands. I feel it echoes “Truth and Aesthetics” which is one of my lifelong pursuits.
